The Pridgeon Design Group created these cataract surgery illustrations for Health Dialog (Now Carenet), where they appear on a webpage about cataract treatment. Medical illustrator Paul Pridgeon collaborated with Health Dialog producers and surgeons from Massachusetts General Hospital to develop the series.
The illustrations depict two procedures: one removes the clouded lens and replaces it with an artificial intraocular lens; the other uses a surgical tool to extract the cataract while preserving the original lens.
